On the 18th of March 2011 was released STARS, a tune that marked the comeback of Ti. (Tignino) Pi. (Piparo) Cal. (Callea) and the “second life” of our label.
There’s not much more to say on the 3 DJ/producers from Sicily who wrote pages of the history of dance music from the early ‘90s: their amazing productions still remain part of our life, they’re the soundtrack to our days.
But there’s still a lot to discover, to say about STARS and a lot to listen to!
This tune has meaningful lyrics, which are pure poetry in some points:
“Stars falling down through the sky, they're moving around you… Stars, oh stars, down to the ground…  the feeling inside you, stars, can we get to the sound… I'm told that you're falling stars”
Looking forward to its 10th anniversary, we decided, during such tough days for everyone (in particular for those who really live on music), to celebrate this tiny little Italian masterpiece a bit earlier because, at the end of the day, each of us has been staring at the sky, looking at the stars and their unique emotional show. Some of us took inspirations from the stars, have dedicated them thoughts, words, prays.
And, what better way to celebrate other than a bundle of international-flavoured remixes that make our STARS shine again?
Let’s start with Addal who, besides having officially remixed big name worldwide such as Rihanna, Avicii, Sofi Tukker, Tom Walker, Zoë, LP, with over 70M plays is one of Italy’s most listened to artists on Soundcloud.
And follow up with Manuel Riva, Romanian DJ/producers awarded as Best Romanian Act at MTV Europe Music Award in 2016 and with rotation in the airplay of top Italian radio networks such as Radio Deejay, Radio 105 and m2o with his single “What mama said”, which achieved very good results also in the rest of the world.
The third remix is the result of the collaboration between two of Russia’s most promising DJs/producers: DJ Mephisto & Lavrushkin.
This bundle also includes the result of the collaboration between the Salento Guys and Rickysee: a new team boasting over 2M plays on Spotify and 4M views on TikTok with their recent production of “Maracas” and the relevant challenge.
We end in style with the two couples of Italian DJs, remixers and producers: Jenny Dee & DaBo and Menini & Viani.
