ARE WE THERE? Is the third single by Romanian artist OLIVIA ADDAMS. Following up on the international success gained with “DUMB”, this young defender of women is back with a new track with a strong message of hope for all those who have been victims somehow, in particular of bullying or body-shaming.
“Sometimes I’m so much into making my dream come true that I don’t take time to look back and see what I left behind: how far I’ve come and how much strong I have been. At the end I understood that it’s not the destination that matters, but the journey itself. As banal as it may sounds, this is a lesson I recently learned, and I was inspired by for this song” Olivia Addams states.
With ARE WE THERE? Olivia Addams carries on her personal battle against bullying, being bullied herself in the past. Lyrics and images (in the video) are deep and provocative: Olivia sees herself in a bullied teenager, who’s not able to react alone, to report abuses and violence she’s suffering of.
“Having been bullied myself, I know how you feel when you’re haunted for years during high school, asking yourself when this is going to an end. My message for you all is to be brave and patient because it’ll get better, because you are worth, you are important and unique, so do not let a bad day or a bad guy steal the joy of this amazing journey called “life”, the artist said.
